Privacy Policy for AI Dream Teller

Last Updated: May 17, 2024

Welcome to AI Dream Teller ("we," "us," or "our"). Your privacy is paramount to us. We want to be absolutely clear: we do not save or store any of your personal data, including the content of your dreams, on our site or servers after your session. This Privacy Policy explains how the limited information we process is handled during your use of our website and AI dream analysis tool (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access or use the Service.

1. Information We Process (Not Store)

When you use our Service, certain information is processed to provide the functionality. However, none of this information is stored persistently by us. The information we process includes:

a. Dream Data

When you use our AI dream analysis tool, you input the text of your dream. This dream text is processed in real-time solely for the immediate purpose of generating an AI-powered interpretation for you during your current, active session. As soon as your analysis is generated or your session ends, this dream text is not retained, saved, or stored by AI Dream Teller in any form that could be linked back to you or at all. To understand more about the technology behind our analysis, please visit our About the AI page.

b. Usage Data

We may process certain technical information automatically when you access the Service for analytical purposes to improve our Service. This includes data like your IP address (which is used for rate limiting and freemium counting as described in our FAQ), browser type, and general interaction patterns. This IP data is used to enforce usage limits but is not stored long-term in association with dream content for identification.

c. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We may use cookies or similar minimal tracking technologies that are essential for the functioning of your current session, such as remembering your selected interpretation style *only* for the duration of your active use. These are not used to track your personal activity across sessions or other websites, and they do not store your dream data. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but note that disabling essential cookies might affect the Service's functionality during your session.

2. How We Process Your Information (Temporarily)

The limited information processed during your session is used to:

  • Provide the immediate dream analysis based on your input.
  • Enforce usage limits (freemium count, rate limiting) based on IP.
  • Analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to understand how the Service is used and improve its performance and features.

3. Sharing of Information (Only for Processing)

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information or dream content with third parties for marketing or any other purposes. The only instance where your dream input is processed by a third party is when it is sent to our AI model provider (e.g., Google's Generative AI models) to generate the interpretation *during your session*. This data is processed by the AI model provider solely for the purpose of providing the immediate analysis and is subject to their data usage policies. We do not store it after your session. We may share aggregated or anonymized usage data that cannot be used to identify you.

4. Data Security (Focus on Transmission and Session)

We take reasonable steps to ensure the security of data *during transmission (HTTPS) and processing within your active session*. Our use of Firebase Cloud Functions and Firestore for rate limiting and freemium counts relies on Google Cloud's security infrastructure. Because we do not store your dream data or personal information beyond the session, the primary risk of a data breach related to your sensitive input is significantly reduced.

5. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or store any personally identifiable information from children under 13.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

7. Contact Us

If you have questions or comments about this Privacy Policy or our non-storage policy, please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, or contact us at [Your Contact Email Address or Link to Contact Form - Placeholder].
